Board Member

How Can We Help You?

Board members all share commonalities regardless of whether they serve on a board at a school, church, condo association, property, buildings and grounds or others.  As an example, board participation is frequently voluntary and resulting in very little, if any, compensation.  Second, these boards are all political in nature and are subject to the scrutiny of the organization they were appointed by or of the public at large.  Third, participation in a board requires making decisions about issues that many people are not educated about or feel comfortable addressing.  Fourth, to be successful, boards must be able to demonstrate accomplishments.

We help these boards and board members by keeping these commonalities/considerations in mind.  Our core principle is to provide unbiased, transparent, and accountable services from initial assessment to project completion.  To remain completely unbiased, we are not affiliated with any contractor or product manufacturer.  Furthermore, we are committed to ethical practice and charging a fair rate for all of our services from beginning to end.  We do not offer free services because this practice usually requires other businesses to unfairly increase fees at another phase of the project.  We are completely accountable to our clients as every dollar is accounted for; every decision and recommendation is disclosed.

Typically, the Board or Board Member utilizes our services on a reactive or proactive basis:

Reactive services serve a direct need or fix an existing problem.  For many building owners, an assessment, diagnosis, or un-biased second opinion is all that is required.  For others, turn-key services beginning with initial assessment and progressing to project management services are desired to repair or rehabilitate a problem condition.

Proactive services can be utilized for either existing structures or new construction projects.  In the case of existing structures, our services predict future concerns and establish recommendations and budgets for future repair efforts.  Services for new construction projects include review of drawings and documents to prevent possible building envelope issues prior to construction.
